Trustee

Become a Minerva Trustee

Minerva Learning Trust is looking to recruit additional Trustees with specialist expertise in human resources, legal, education or finance to join our Trust Board.

What does a Trustee do?

Trustees offer specialist support to the strategic direction and decision making of the Trust. They are legally accountable and responsible for the Trust and its schools. By working objectively and using balanced and informed research, a Trustee contributes towards decisions that help the charity to succeed in reaching its strategic aims.

Our requirements

We seek highly skilled trustees who can actively participate, act proactively, and address often difficult and sensitive questions in the strictest of confidence. A Trustee must be willing to work collaboratively, able to work with others, and be willing to constructively contribute to the school and Trust.

In order to be eligible for a role on a Trust Board it is of the highest importance that the applicant must be impartial and a non-beneficiary of the Trust. We cannot accept applications from individuals who would in any way achieve personal gain or be influenced by loyalties in serving the role. Applicants must always be able to support decisions that prioritise the success of the Trust.

Attendance at our meetings, and time to prepare for the meetings is crucial. There is a minimum expectation that Trustees will attend two meetings per school term with a surplus requirement to attend ad hoc meetings relating to staffing, students welfare and more.

We continually seek to improve the demographic of our Trust Board to ensure that we improve the outcomes and experiences for our students, parents/carers, staff, and the communities we serve.  We recognise the positive value of diversity, promoting equality and challenging discrimination.  We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds.
