Dear Parents and Carers,  

As we approach the end of 2024, I would like to extend my thanks for another wonderful year with many achievements. This year has been filled with positivity, challenges, growth, hard work and successes. 

None of this would be possible without your partnership. Your involvement in your child’s education and continued support have been crucial in making this year a success. Together we can continue to create a safe and fulfilling environment that allows every child to thrive, regardless of background or ability. 

Below are some notable achievements from this academic year so far: 

September 

10 Years of Minerva Learning Trust 

Minerva Learning Trust turned 10 years old! To celebrate this milestone, we asked our schools to contribute some memories and objects to bury in a time capsule, to be opened in another 10 years time, to mark the growth and progress of our Trust. This time capsule was buried at Handsworth Grange Community Sports College (our founding school) and contained many items which were donated from all our schools. 

October 

Chapeltown Academy – Good Ofsted Outcome  

Chapeltown Academy remains a Good school following their Ofsted inspection in October 2024. This is a great achievement by the Academy, which could not have happened without the support from our parent/carers and the wider local community. We are extremely proud of all our staff and students. 

November 

Collaboration Day 

It brings me so much joy to be able to say that we have had another successful Trust Collaboration Day this year. Across three sites, we brought staff together from different departments in all our schools, including the four new schools from Cavendish Learning Trust, to share best practice. This was a full day of excellent professional development for all which in turn will ensure outstanding education provision for all our students. 

December 

Cavendish and Minerva Merger – 10 schools now!  

After a long process, Cavendish Learning Trust has now merged with Minerva Learning Trust as of 1st December 2024. This will bring so much knowledge, expertise and enthusiasm to our Trust and I cannot wait to see what we can do together.
