Yesterday, our central team gathered for a full staff meeting, a pivotal moment to reflect on the past year and unveil the strategic plans for the year ahead.
The day kicked off with a comprehensive review of this year’s assessment results. From early years to the performance data of our recent leavers, we delved into the numbers, analysing how they stacked up against previous years. Achievements were celebrated, yet the focus remained sharp on areas needing continued attention. Simbar led the discussion on behaviour, emphasising that improving it is a top priority moving forward. Attendance was another key topic; while on the rise across the trust, there’s a collective commitment to further boosting these numbers to enhance the future prospects of our young people.
Next, the HR team took the stage to address staff welfare and well-being. Their session covered crucial legislative updates, including new sexual harassment training protocols, ensuring that our team is fully prepared and safe in the workplace. The message was clear: staff safety is a non-negotiable priority.
Following the HR update, we shifted our focus to the broader vision for the future. How can we ensure that we’re meeting our mission of providing outstanding education for all within our trust? This question led to an important session on safeguarding, where our leads reviewed the latest guidance on Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE). The discussion reaffirmed that keeping our children safe is our ultimate responsibility, a commitment we hold with utmost seriousness.
The conversation then moved to the core values that define us as an organisation: inclusivity, independence, respect, and success. We explored how to embody these values daily, ensuring they are not just words but a living, breathing part of our identity. This naturally segued into a session on Ethical Leadership, where we examined the ethical implications of our decisions, reflecting on their impact on students, staff, and the wider community.
Before breaking out into individual team sessions for development, we paused for a crucial business operations update. The review highlighted recent changes and set the stage for our plans in Term 1. The energy in the room was palpable, with everyone ready to hit the ground running and bring these goals to life.
This gathering of our central team, all under one roof, was a rare and special opportunity. It was made possible by the generosity of Kabir Aslam, who graciously offered us the premises at Mon Amour – Darnell. We are incredibly grateful for his support, which allowed us to come together in such a meaningful way.
As the meeting drew to a close, the sense of unity and purpose was stronger than ever. We are poised to face the challenges and opportunities of the coming year, grounded in our shared values and driven by our collective mission. #MLTMeeting #StaffWellbeing #Safeguarding #EthicalLeadership #TeamDevelopment #T1Goals #grateful
