High Storrs School Celebrates Top GCSE Results and Strong Ofsted Rating

High Storrs School has been recognised as one of the top‑performing secondary schools in South Yorkshire, following the release of new Department for Education performance figures for the 2024/25 academic year.

The school achieved an Attainment 8 score of 60.9, significantly above both the local average of 43.1 and the national average of 45.9. This places High Storrs among the highest‑achieving schools in the region for GCSE results.

Attainment 8 scores measure pupils’ performance across up to eight GCSE subjects, providing a clear picture of academic achievement. This year, the Department for Education focused on Attainment 8 rather than Progress 8, due to pandemic disruptions affecting this cohort of learners.

In addition to strong exam results, High Storrs was most recently rated ‘Good’ overall by Ofsted, reflecting high standards in quality of education, student behaviour and attitudes, leadership and management, and safeguarding practices.

High Storrs joins 18 other schools across Sheffield, Doncaster, Rotherham, and Barnsley in topping the regional table for GCSE performance and positive Ofsted outcomes.
